water ionizer maintenance

FILTER REPLACEMENT: All Aqua Ionizer Pro water ionizers have a single internal filter that will last up to 9 months or 4000L (whichever occurs first).

If you have hard water you may need to replace the filter more often.

The filter panel is located at the top of our units, simply pop it off to expose the chamber cap. Once exposed you can unscrew the cap and replace it with a new

filter (make sure to prime the filter by holding it under running water for a minute or two). After changing the filter you can reset the internal filter counter so the machine alerts you when it’s time to change it next.

Resetting the indicator: With the machine plugged in and the water not running, hold down the SET/MUTE to reset the internal filter counter. If done correctly you will hear a beep. Replacement filters – Click here

EXTERNAL FILTER REPLACEMENT: All Aqua Ionizer Pro water ionizers have an optional external filtration that removes more intensive things like fluoride, lead, heavy metals, and much more. These filters will last up to 18 months or 8000L (whichever occurs first) and if you have hard water you may need to replace them more often. The filters are sold as a set and can be replaced in minutes. To replace them simply unscrew each filter off of the bracket, and replace by screwing the new one in.

If you are using our external mineral filters in addition to, the suggested time of replacement is every 9 months or 4000L. External filter options: Click here

INTERNAL CLEANING: As with any appliance, water ionizers need to eventually be descaled. Depending on your source water quality, we recommend descaling the machine every 12 to 24 months with the included citric acid cleaning agent.

Depending on where your machine is located will determine the correct cleaning procedure.

  3. Pour the citric acid into a drinking glass (about 2 tablespoons) and fill with hot water, then stir solution.

  5. Let solution soak for no longer than 1-2 hours, then run warm water through your machine for 5 minutes.
  6. Unscrew filter cap and insert new primed replacement filter.
